The Beginning of the End

Well, the move is really becoming a reality. I am not the only one that is feeling it. I have been saying all along that the girls were handling everything very well. I was especially encouraged by how K was taking it. Both my girls are sensitive but K is definitely much more so. Yesterday was a hard day. I knew saying good bye at church was going to be hard but I feel like I did a pretty good job (only cried a few times). It helped that I knew I was going to see some of those closest to me at least one more time. We went to lunch with some our closest friends from church, I will see another good friend tonight at a swimming banquet and one more at lunch on Friday. The girls don't get that opportunity. This was there final good bye. K said that they made an announcement in her Sunday School class and everyone gave her a big group hug. I am so very thankful for that. She was smiling from ear to ear when we picked her. L's class all told her good bye too. I thought all was going pretty well until we went outside later in the day. I guess it finally started to feel real to K after saying good bye at church. She climbed one of her favorite trees and started to cry. DH asked her what was the matter and she told him that she was sad and was saying good bye to her trees. We are working on gifts for friends today after they get home from school. This could be an emotional afternoon. Please pray for us.

I wanted to post a layout I did not too long ago that was in the February issue of CK. I know some of you have already seen this layout since it had been posted on the CK website also but I wanted to add it here.

I will see you tomorrow for my final post before the move. Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,
Lisa

I'm sorry your girls are feeling sad, but as you must know, children are so very resilient.
And I haven't been here in a little while, so I wanted to tell you how much I love your last couple of posted LOs. You do such beautiful work :)

Lisa, I'm so sorry about the sadness related to the move. Your post brought tears to my eyes. We moved into a brand new house 6 months ago, and my 9 yr. old and I are still having a really hard time. I never thought I would feel this way, as I always thought I'd be thrilled to have a brand new big house. And we only moved 1/2 mile away! But I wish we could move the new house to the old neighborhood. That would be perfect! So I completely understand what you are going through. Prayers for you and your little ones!

I am going to start the Oceans Apart Karen Kingsbury book! I have only read a couple of her books but I really like them.

I know saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do. Especially for the girls who might not see the adventure and newness ahead for them. I will be praying for this afternoon as you make gifts and for exciting moments to happen as you move and are encouraged.

We have made a couple major moves like that and it is truly so hard to say goodbye to your church family! We have some extremely close friends at our various churches. I guess now you can look forward to your new friends although that takes time.

Will be thinking of you, hoping the girls are able to get excited again after the get settled at the new house. Change is so hard, even if it is a good change. Hugs!

Awwww, lisa, I am so sorry! I hope that the move goes well and smoothly for you. It's always harder on the kids, but, hopefully, things will only get better from here. {{{{HUGS}}} to you and both of your girls, my dear!
