$2000 question of the day

So... how long are Easter eggs really good when left out in your husband's office? hahahaha  :)  While cleaning the floors in my husband's office I stumbled across an egg that the Easter Bunny had cleverly stashed there.  Oh my word, I have got to start writing these things down. LOL

Anyway,  wanted to let you know that I posted a tutorial on the Creative Charms blog this morning.  Here is a sneak for you.

Check out the full project and tutorial here.  Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Weekend with the Girls

Ahhhh...that is the sound of relaxation. :)  Had such a wonderful time with friends this weekend.  We spent the weekend in Indy, scrapping and staying up way too late. While I was in Indy DH took the girls back down to Bloomington so L could go to her best friend's birthday party.  Better yet, the party was held at L's old gym.  They had such a great time.
.
Got a bunch of projects done but I can't share them quite yet.  I do have a card to share though.  This week the designers over at Emma's Paperie created projects that focused on trims.  I have to say, one of my favorite parts of designing for Emma's are all the amazing trims she sells in the store.
.
.
I used my trims in several different ways on this card. Of course I used it as trim between the different pattern papers, tied it onto the pins and then the third way I used the trim (ribbon) was by creating the flower.  It is really easy to do.

1.      Start with wide ribbon, a strip of cardstock or pattern paper. If you are using paper, get the paper slightly wet.  If the paper is too wet it will tear.
2.      Cut a circle out of coordinating cardstock that is slightly smaller than the flower you plan to create.
3.      Place a small dab of hot glue in the center of the circle and attach one end of the ribbon.
4.      Moving in a circular pattern, wrap the ribbon around the center of the circle, continuing to twist the ribbon as you wind.
5.      Use hot glue gun to tack down parts of the ribbon as you go.
6.      Once your flower is the desired size, tuck the loose end under the flower and hot glue the end.
7.      Add pearl, button or rhinestone to the center of the flower and you are done.

Mud and Goals

Man, I feel like I have been surrounded by mud lately.  It has been raining so much and since we do not have grass yet, our whole yard is a complete mud pit.  Our yard is not the only mud pit, the soccer fields have been a mess.  L's fields in particular are very muddy and she had a run in or two with those mud puddles.  :)
.
.

Of course you have to play hard to get that muddy.  One of her greatest strengths on the soccer field is that she is fearless.  She goes after the ball and never looks back.
.

.
.
K's fields have not been quite as bad.  She has definitely been playing well though.  When we moved here she had the choice to play on a girl's team or to play coed.  She learned when playing in Bloominton that playing coed makes her a better player so she chose to play coed once again.  She can give those boys a run for their money, no matter how tall they are.
.
.
She scored her first goal of the season last week.
.
.
.
GOAL!!!
.
.
She has actually started practicing with a travel team.  I really like the coach.  He is a really nice guy, has a lot of fun with the girls, but what I like about him the best is his honesty.  Since she has never played travel she is behind the other girls her age.  He talked to K about what it is going to take to get her to the level where the other 11/12 year old girls are.  He was honest but encouraging.  I am so proud of my sweet girl and her attitude. On the way home she asked me if I thought her coach might meet her early each practice so she could work with him.  I have no doubt that she is going to be playing at their level in no time.
.
Before I leave, I have a card to share.  We had a fabulous color inspiration at Emma's this week.  Here is my card for the color inspiration.

Great inspirations

Have you ever met someone who makes you want to be better, do more, try something new?  I have been so blessed with so many amazing inspirations in my life.  This morning as I took a few minutes to wake up I checked out blogs of a few dear friends.  When I got to my friend Char's blog her card just inspired me.  My mojo has taken a bit of a hiatus recently.  The move has started to catch up to me and so I have taken a break from creating aside from assignments.  But Char's card got me inspired to play.  Her inspiration for me goes so far beyond creative though.  This woman is amazingly strong and couragous.  I am so lucky to call her a friend.
.
So I have some fun stuff to share with you this morning.  First is a layout I created last week for Emma's Paperie.  This week we are spotlighting Maya Road.  Oh man do I love Maya Road! :) This layout was not only fun to create but also therapeutic.
