Today's the Day

Happy Tuesday everyone!

So the packers come today. I can't explain the whirlwind of emotions I am feeling right now. I think we are physically ready except for a few clothes I washed yesterday that I need to put away yet. We have our bathtub (now identified as the NO PACK ZONE) loaded with stuff to keep us busy during our trip and time in the hotel room. And now I wait..... (I am NOT good at this part) :)
K had her swim party last night. It was a nice way to say good bye to all of her friends that do not go to school with her. She will be spending the afternoon with one of her closest swim friends. I really hate to leave these amazing coaches. The have taught her so much, but more than that they have shown her love and encouragement. I am so very thankful for them.

I thought I would share one more project with you before I go. Since I cannot share anything new yet I thought I would share one more recently published item. This set was in the February issue of Crafts N' Things.
I want to thank everyone for all your sweet comments of support. I am excited about this journey. I won't be able to post for a few weeks but I hope you will check back in. I hope to be back around the third week of April. At that time I will be able to share everything that I have been working feverishly on the last couple of weeks. You all mean so much to me and I appreciate you stopping by. See you soon!

The Beginning of the End

Well, the move is really becoming a reality. I am not the only one that is feeling it. I have been saying all along that the girls were handling everything very well. I was especially encouraged by how K was taking it. Both my girls are sensitive but K is definitely much more so. Yesterday was a hard day. I knew saying good bye at church was going to be hard but I feel like I did a pretty good job (only cried a few times). It helped that I knew I was going to see some of those closest to me at least one more time. We went to lunch with some our closest friends from church, I will see another good friend tonight at a swimming banquet and one more at lunch on Friday. The girls don't get that opportunity. This was there final good bye. K said that they made an announcement in her Sunday School class and everyone gave her a big group hug. I am so very thankful for that. She was smiling from ear to ear when we picked her. L's class all told her good bye too. I thought all was going pretty well until we went outside later in the day. I guess it finally started to feel real to K after saying good bye at church. She climbed one of her favorite trees and started to cry. DH asked her what was the matter and she told him that she was sad and was saying good bye to her trees. We are working on gifts for friends today after they get home from school. This could be an emotional afternoon. Please pray for us.

I wanted to post a layout I did not too long ago that was in the February issue of CK. I know some of you have already seen this layout since it had been posted on the CK website also but I wanted to add it here.

I will see you tomorrow for my final post before the move. Thank you for stopping by.
Hugs,
Lisa

Homecoming

My dear sweet DH comes home today. I have really missed him. This is not the first time he has been away for a week but for some reason it felt so lonely when he was gone this time. I really don't know how people do it. My amazing friend Kimber and I talked about this recently. I admire her and other military wives like her, so much.

Just a quick post today. I have to start packing up items I don't want the movers to pack. I also get to pack suitcases for our trip to Hawaii. I am so excited about this trip. We had it planned long before we found out we were moving. It is part of the reason we are keeping the girls in school here until Spring Break. It promises to be an amazing trip. I am also looking forward to getting to meet a dear scrapping friend. Molly and I have made plans to meet for a short time at the airport in between planes.

Hope your day is wonderful!

Hardware shopping

Happy Thursday everyone!

Not a whole lot of time to chat this morning. I got a little side tracked watching Idol last night and did not get whole lot of scrappin' done last night. I am rootin' for the two praise and worship leaders-Chris and Danny. I do kind of like Adams voice but he just creeps me out a bit. The look he gives the camera sometimes is a little eerie. As for the girls, eh. Lil has a great voice but she is really the only one I like.

I went yesterday to check out two stores for towel racks and toilet paper holders for our new home. Rob the builder (if you have young kids that should make you smile ) told us he usually doesn't put those in because people have such differences in taste. That kind of surprised me. I have to stop and say that Rob is an awesome guy. I have been so impressed with him. He is professional and prompt and extremely easy to work with. Anyway, DH and I found some racks at Restoration Hardware that we really liked.

Pretty huh? It is also quite expensive, especially when you need to put them in every bathroom. So we are in the process of checking out other places to see if there is something else we like.

Wanted to share one of my absolute favorite layouts with you this morning. This layout was in the February issue of Memory Makers. These pictures started off staged. I sat the girls on the sofa, that I had turned toward the big picture window and I was determined to get some good pictures. Well, you know the saying about best laid plans. The started bickering, at one point L was crying, the whole bit. But I just snapped away, hoping to get at least one picture I could use. We got done and I was frustrated, sure that it had been a waste of time. Then I saw these pictures and my heart just melted. I love how the layout turned out but more than that, I love how the pictures captured their relationship. These two sweet girls have such a tight bond. They definitely have their moments (like this morning as they both tried to share a shower) LOL but they adore each other. I thank God every single day for that. The layout is actually white so I added a black border so you can see it better.

Have an amazing day.

Hugs,
Lisa

Glorious Day

WOW the weather was unbelievably beautiful yesterday. The packing truck comes next week and I have so much to do before then, but I just COULD NOT stay indoors yesterday. Once the kids got done with their homework we got some Subway sandwiches and headed to their favorite park for a picnic. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

A quick layout to share with you. I realized after posting the winter page yesterday that I really should have posted this one. It is much "greener". :) This layout was in a recent issue of Memory Makers. That tree is the same one that we just replanted at our new home. I can't wait to that little guy grow. There is a lot of journaling but I think if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you will be able to read everything.

Have a great Wednesday and thank you so very much for stopping by!

Hugs,
Lisa

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I am reading another book by Karen Kingsbury. I do really like her books, although I have to say, I may have picked the wrong time to be reading this one. I read just little at night, right before bed. Well, DH is gone this week and there is a stalker in this book that is creeping me out. Ms. Kingbury is a Christian writer so it is nothing too graphic, just a little creepy when your husband is out of town.

Before it gets too warm I wanted to post a layout I had in the January issue of Scrapbook Etc.

We had so much snow this year but last year was completely the opposite. It was late January before we saw any of that beautiful white stuff. Even though there was very little snow on the ground, the girls were dying to play in it. I was completely cracking up as they tried to sled down the hill with the grass still peeking through. LOL They did have a great time though.

I have more projects to get done today for both Emma's Paperie and Magistical Memories today. We will be without our internet and my scrappy stuff for about three weeks. If you check back tomorrow I should be able to share one of my new Emma's projects with you.

Until then, have an amazing Tuesday!

Another Monday Morning

Hi everyone,

I am definitely going to have to crank up the music this morning if I am going to get anything done. The time change has be a little slow in the morning.

How was your weekend? Mine was quite enjoyable. My mother-in-law came to visit. Friday night we went out to dinner with DH's new boss and his boss that he is leaving and their wives. It was very nice to meet his new boss and his wife. They are very nice people and I know why DH is looking forward to working for him. As for is old boss, I have always enjoyed spending time with them. They are incredibly nice people, as well. Saturday we took my MIL to our new house and showed her around. I have some pictures I will share with you in just a bit. Sunday, L had her final meet with this gym, which just turned out to be the state meet. She obviously was not quite herself yet, not that I expect her to have a spectacular meet every time, but she was so tired. She kept yawning and laying down while she was waiting for her turn. She had almost 12 hours of sleep the night before and a great breakfast so I can only guess that is was still this bug in her. There was some amazing talent there and we are very proud of the 7th place medal she got in vault (her favorite event) :)

I did want to show you a few pictures from our new house. One of my absolute favorite parts of this house is the gorgeous kitchen. I am a sucker for cherry cabinets.

This beautiful area is right off the kitchen. The windows face the backyard where we have a tree line behind our house. Nothing fabulous in the winter but I KNOW is am going to LOVE it come spring.

This is the living room. We plan on using this area as a formal living area since the basement will be finished by closing and we will use that space as a casual living room.

This is the master, also facing that gorgeous backyard.
The master bath is gorgeous too, even though the picture doesn't show it that well. Love that tile around the tub. We are definitely going to have to do something about that window over the tub though. People DO NOT want to see me in that bathroom. LOL

This is the loft upstairs. I will have my scraproom in one of the bedrooms and use this area for my computer. I like the idea of having an open area for the computer. This way once the girls start using the computer more, we can keep an eye on the sites they are visiting.

So that is our new home. I am just in love with it. I can't wait to put my stuff in there.

I hope your week is peaceful and full of everything that is good. May God bless you today.

Hugs,
Lisa

Round Two

*Sigh* Yes, we are round two of the sickies. This is the second day that L has been home with a fever. Today I am not feeling all that well either. Nothing major, just a headache a bit blah. Keep your fingers crossed and say your prayers for L though. She is supposed to have her state gymnastics meet this weekend and I really don't want her to miss this. She is so excited. The fever has been running about 4-5 days according to the secretary at the girls' school. :(

Anyway, I am going to go snuggle with my sweetie but I wanted to share this weeks project with you from Emma's Paperie. The colors this week were pink and green. Yummy, love those colors together. Here is my project.

You can check out the blog to find my supply list and see all the amazing projects the other designers created. You will also have to check out our guest designer this week, Lisa VanderVeen. I was so excited to here that Lisa was going to be designing with us this month. We have been friends for such a long time and I have missed her. She is incredibly talented and I can't wait to see what she comes up with for this month's challenges.

Thanks for stopping by and have wonderful Thursday!

Going blinds

I spent my morning yesterday in our new house with a nice guy named Danny from the blinds company. We've got blinds ordered for all the bedrooms now and our master bath. Everything else is going to have to wait though. It may be a while before we can afford to cover the other windows. The house isn't officially ours until the 30th but the builder has been so good to us. He gave DH the code to the garage so we can go in whenever we want. I got down there yesterday, an hour and a half drive, opened the garage door and then tried to get in the house. The interior door was locked! I think the girls must have accidently locked it when we were there on Sunday. Some guys were working on the basement and we were thankfully able to get in. Being in the house does make me want to move in like right now. Don't get me wrong, I am going to miss so many people here terribly (yes especially you Mary and Kimber) :) but I am just dying to move into that gorgeous house.

On the agenda today-get some scrappy projects done before my sweet friend, Mary and I go out for lunch. I need to get my projects done for the end of this month and the beginning of next. I figure I will be without my scrapbooking stuff for about three weeks by the time we move and then leave for spring break. Wish me luck. Not feeling so hot (I think I am coming down with what K had last week).
I will leave you with a card though, before I go. LOVE these little Potty People from Magistical Memories. The pattern paper is Basic Grey and everything else is My Mind's Eye (love that company!)

Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing Tuesday!

Trees and Tire Swings

Happy Monday everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was wonderful. The weather has been spectacular. We have definitely taken advantage of the warm weather even with the threat of being blown away!

Saturday was the carnival at the girls' school. K and I worked the first shift in her room and then DH and L joined us after that. The girls left with painted hair (hot pink is NOT easy to get off the scalp LOL) and lots of loot. Afterwards they spent the rest of the afternoon outside playing. Sunday we took a trip down to our new home. K got a tree for Arbor Day last year and wanted to make sure it got to our new house. We decided it would be a lot easier to take now than when we had all of our stuff. We got L a tree of her own to plant in the back yard of our new house too.

Of couse our little nature lover had to make sure the worms were safe! LOL I am not kidding! She pulled out any worms she found to make sure they didn't get squished. She then safely put them back in the ground before we filled the hole with dirt.
I also have a layout to share with you. Did this one for a the contest over at Magistical Memories this month. There is still time to enter and you could win some awesome chipboard! Check out the contest here.
Anyway here is my layout. I used one of the new Bubble Frames as my base for my photo strip. The cute flower is from Prima and that awesome stamp is one of the new ones from Maya Road.
Hope you have a great week and thank you so much for stopping by!

Thank you

Good Morning everyone!

I am happy to say that I am sitting here in my house alone! Yes, K is back at school today. The fever is finally gone. She does still have a terrible cough. We went to the doctor yesterday to get some strong cough medicine but that only helps so much. I don't think she slept well last night. She was a tad bit cranky this morning (OK, the word tad is being nice). :) But she is on the road to recovery and I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. :) You all are the best!

I have a layout to share today. I used a bunch of Magistical Memories yummy Jumbo Nesting Stars on this layout. It was seriously inspired by the fabulous Terri Davenport. She had a layout with circles that was posted on the Scrapbook Etc. blog that I just loved.

One more thank you to give out. Thanks to my sweet friend Audrey for giving me this award.

I am now passing the award on to Hilary, Linda, and Danielle. Have a fabulous Thursday!

Still sick

Hi all. We had a rough night last night. :( Poor K is still sick. I thought for sure yesterday that she was going to be going back to school. She woke up yesterday morning feeling so much better. Her fever was gone and she was pretty much her self. We got her into bed at a good time and she fell asleep quickly but then woke up around 9:30. It was all downhill from there. She started coughing so hard she couldn't catch her breath and her fever sky rocketed up to 103. She didn't end up falling back to sleep until 1 am. :( Thankfully she is still asleep now and the coughing has subsided. Please say a prayer for my sweet girl.

Have a great day!

Drive by posting

Happy Monday everyone!

Just a quick post today. My sweet K is home sick today. It is her first day missing school all year and wouldn't you know, they have standardized testing today. Ackkk. Her fever was 101 before bed last night and although I did not take her temperature when she got up at 3 I am sure it was higher. So I get a day of hanging out with her today.

In case you couldn't make it over to Emma's this weekend for the birthday party I thought I would post my project. I decided that since it was a birthday party, I would make a party set. Here is what I came up with.

You can check out the blog at Emma's Paperie for the instructions and see what all the other designers did for the party.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week is amazing!
