Mammoth Adventures Part 2

Good morning everyone!!!
.
I have more pictures from our trip to share with you this morning. We spent this last Sunday at Mammoth Cave National Park. We had a 3 hour cave tour in the morning and then planned on spending the afternoon hiking.
.

I actually decided not to take my camera on the cave tour. One of the cool parts of the tour was that we went back deep into the cave where there were no electric lights. The majority of the tour was lit by laterns and there was no flash photography so I decided not to lug my camera. It was such a great tour and we learned so much about the caves. I am glad we chose to take one of the longer tours and both girls loved it as well. I was a little concerned about L, she is not as much of a nature/history buff as K, but she had a good time too.
.

.
We didn't actually spend the afternoon hiking like we had planned. We did one quick trail around the visitor's center after the cave tour. It was so insanely hot that we decided to go back hotel, swim, and then go back to the park later after it cooled down.
.

.
The picture above was taken at the mouth of the cave. The cold air from the cave made it a
great place to cool off.
.
I have one card to share with you today. I created this card using the chandelier chipboard piece from Magistical Memories. I just love the details that Crystle adds to these chipboard pieces.
.
Speaking of Magistical Memories, did you know that there is a monthly contest and challenges that give you a chance to win some of this great chipboard? This month's contest is to create a layout or project in which you draw inspiration from your country's state flag. Check out the details.
.

.
I also wanted to take this chance to remind you to stop by Creative Charms and pick up the Deal of the month. It is such a great deal. You get $23 worth of product for just $6.99!
.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Stop by in the next day or two and I will have my contest layout to share with you.

Mammoth Adventures part 1

279...That is how many pictures I am downloading from our four day weekend vacation we took. We piled in the car early Friday morning (much earliers than I would have left, thanks to my early risers) :) We arrived in Cave City, Kentucky by lunchtime. If you have never been to Mammoth Cave National Park and the surrounding area, I highly recommend the trip.
.
We spent the majority of Saturday at Kentucky Action Park. The girls both made it to the top of the climbing wall. The arms on these girls amaze me. They are some strong chicas.
.

.
We hit the bumper cars a few times. (No pun intended of course!)
.

.
The trampoline was a huge hit even though that black surface was insane on bare feet. Love this picture of K. She was such a clown on that thing.

.
Yes, I even gave it a try. It is NOT as easy as it looks although I did manage to get one somersault in!

.
Our favorite part of the park was the Alpine Slide. You ride these lifts to the top of a hill....
.

.
and then ride sleds down a quarter mile concrete slide. The sleds allow you to accelerate or slow down whenever you want. We had such a great time on the slides we made this trip too many times to count.
.

.
I have a project to share with you as well today. I created this layout last week before we left for vacation. The girls came out of their bedrooms wearing these t-shirts a couple of weeks ago and it hit me how much their shirts took me back to my childhood. I knew I had to create a layout about it.
.

.
The rainbow is simply three pieces of cardstock that I inked and pieced together. I then added white hand drawn stitches and Gradient Gem Stickers from Creative Charms for extra detail. Those awesome orange retro looking flowers are also from Creative Charms. You can find them them in this month's Deal of the Month. I simply replaced the center with green gem stickers that are also part of the kit. That awesome butterfly is one of the new releases from Magistical Memories. I simply covered him with orange embossing powder and then embellished him with more gem stickers. The frame for the smaller photo is also from Magistical Memories.
.
I will be back in a day or two to share more from our trip. Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Birthday Fun

Happy 9th birthday to my sweet L. I am so lucky to have this sweet, fun and energetic girl as my daughter.
.

.
So these sweet, goofy girls helped us

celebrate

a Laser Tag birthday.

.
L and all her friends had a fabulous time. The party was really a lot of fun.
.
Before I go spend some time with my birthday girl, I want to share a project I did for Emma's Paperie last week. The designers were asked to make cards with matching envelopes. Here is my project.

You can find the complete supply list on the Emma's Paperie Blog.

Celebrations

Happy Monday everyone!
.
What an wonderful weekend we had. Thursday we took the girls to King's Island for part of their birthday gift.
.

.
We spent the day going on rides. I wish I would have thought to get a picture of them in front of their favorite ride, Adventure Express. I bet they rode that ride at least eight times. It was nice, the park was not too busy so we were able to get on rides without much wait. The longest wait was on one of the water rides. Why is it the one who spends the most time on their hair always seems to get the wettest? LOL
.

.
The main reason we went to King's Island on Thursday was to go to Spirit Song. It is a 3 day long concert series including some of the biggest names in Contemporary Christian music. Below is a picture of Tenth Avenue North. They were fabulous! I wish I could have got a good picture of Third Day (ABSOLUTELY love them) but my point and shoot did not do well after dark. It was a long day but so worth it!
.

.
Friday afternoon we headed to Illinois to DH's parents' house for a wedding of a childhood friend of his. Their families have been close for many years and it was wonderful to see all of those friends of his families. They are always so sweet and I enjoy spending time with all of them. After a brunch Sunday morning we packed up and came home. I am exhausted but happy with lots of laundry to do.
.
I do have a prayer request for all of you though. My brother-in-law and his wife are expecting their second child at the beginning of September. She has been put on bed rest as of Thursday. They would appreciate your prayers. Their first sweet little girl was born a month early and we would love for this little peanut to go full term.
.
So, if you follow my blog, you know that I can't leave without a project or two. This first one I have to share was created using the color inspiration this week over at Emma's. Please stop by the blog to see the supply list and the other designer's amazing projects.
.

.
Have a fantastic week and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Belated Fourth!

Hi everyone!!!
.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. We got to spend the whole weekend with my parents and had a great time. We went to the Fourth of July parade on Saturday morning. Enjoyed our traditional Indians game with fireworks on Sunday night even though the Indians got smoked. Both girls are really turning into sports fans. L got a little bit restless by the end of the game but K could tell you the score and count anytime you asked. The fireworks afterward were amazing as usual. Indianapolis always does a nice job with that.
.
.
It is my turn to do the post on the Creative Charms blog today. I have a few sneaks for you. Head over to there to see the complete project!
.
.
.
And finally I have two more cards to share with you today. It has been a while since we have had a baby in the family. This weekend we got the news that DH's cousin (his one and only cousin) had her baby. Sweet Andrew was born on July 2nd. In honor of the first boy to be added to the family in a LONG time I created this card.
.
.
This second card is for a workshop I created for Emma's Paperie on using buttons. Cindy had gobs and gobs of fabulous buttons in her store. Make sure to pop over to the Emma's Paperie Blog to see the other two button cards I created.
.
.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous week!
