Sick

Eckkk. That is how I am feeling this morning. I guess when you snuggle with two sweet little sick girls all week you are bound to catch it yourself. Hmmm...may have had something to do with them climbing into bed with me.
.
K's meet went very well this weekend. Thanks to everyone who wished her luck. She did not make divisionals but had a fabulous meet just the same. She dropped time in every event except the 50 breast stroke, including taking over 4 seconds off her 100 breast. I am so proud of my little champ. She felt pretty crummy Sunday morning, the day she needed to swim the 50 breast for divisional cuts but decided to go anyway. We made sure she knew how proud we were of her for giving it her best shot.
.
Have two projects to share with you this morning. Both projects are using some Graphic 45 that I picked up at my LSS. Just adore their vintage look. This first project I covered a door hanger that I found at Hobby Lobby on clearence last year.

.
I have been playing with making my own flowers. The small flowers with rhinestones in the middle were simply made using two flower punches. I added the rhinestone brads and then bent up the petals to give them some dimension. The larger flowers with the pink pearls in the center took a little bit longer but were still a lot of fun to make. To create these great flowers you cut a strip of pattern paper approximately one inch wide. Wet the strip with either spray starch or water and rol into a long straw-like tube. Hot glue one end to a piece of coordinating cardstock. Then simply twist and spin the tube around the center adding hot glue where needed to keep the flower in place. When you reach the end of the tube, tuck the end under the flower and hot glue in place. After the glue has dried trim off the excess cardstock and attach to project. Add rhinestone, pearl or button to the center of the flower.
.
I created the card below again using some great Graphic 45 papers along with an image from the fabulous Tammy Tutterow. She has the most adorable images on her blog for free download. As soon as I saw this one I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful day!
