Big Impact

One of the things that I didn't share about our visit to Illinois was a little incident that happened Thursday night. Well, at least I thought it was little but to my sweet DD obviously it wasn't quite so little. Friday morning while I was getting ready to head back to Indy I got everything ready to take out to the van. As I glanced in the front seat I noticed that the glove box was open. After closer examination I saw that everything from the glove box was all over the front seat and three other compartments were open. The contents of those compartments also spread all over the car. Obviously someone had broke into my car during the night. They had also gone through my SIL's van, which was sitting right next to mine. We called the police and found out that they were investigating a similar crime right down the road.

I was very thankful that nothing had been broken and there was nothing in either car that the thieves cared to take. I dismissed the whole event since no harm had come from it. My oldest DD is having a harder time letting it go. I knew it had upset her. I had a talk with her and even the police officer reassured her that everything was OK. I thought she was OK with it until she started having nightmares the last three nights. Last night I finally asked her if she knew what was causing her bad dreams. She said that she just can't stop thinking about the guy breaking into our car. :( I plan to sit down with her again tonight and have another long talk.

I did get a chance to do a little scrapping yesterday. YAY! I love the wonderful sketches on the CPS blog. I used this week's sketch to make a card for my brother and his wife.

You can find all the yummy supplies for this card at Emma's.

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

It is amazing how our children can be so in tune to things and it can impact them. I pray she is able to get past the fear this incident instilled in her.

I feel so bad for your DD. I can imagine that it must be hard for kids to handle. Ryan was upset and had nightmare over a bat in our upstairs for days. I hope she feels better.
