Weekend with the Girls

Ahhhh...that is the sound of relaxation. :)  Had such a wonderful time with friends this weekend.  We spent the weekend in Indy, scrapping and staying up way too late. While I was in Indy DH took the girls back down to Bloomington so L could go to her best friend's birthday party.  Better yet, the party was held at L's old gym.  They had such a great time.
.
Got a bunch of projects done but I can't share them quite yet.  I do have a card to share though.  This week the designers over at Emma's Paperie created projects that focused on trims.  I have to say, one of my favorite parts of designing for Emma's are all the amazing trims she sells in the store.
.
.
I used my trims in several different ways on this card. Of course I used it as trim between the different pattern papers, tied it onto the pins and then the third way I used the trim (ribbon) was by creating the flower.  It is really easy to do.

1.      Start with wide ribbon, a strip of cardstock or pattern paper. If you are using paper, get the paper slightly wet.  If the paper is too wet it will tear.
2.      Cut a circle out of coordinating cardstock that is slightly smaller than the flower you plan to create.
3.      Place a small dab of hot glue in the center of the circle and attach one end of the ribbon.
4.      Moving in a circular pattern, wrap the ribbon around the center of the circle, continuing to twist the ribbon as you wind.
5.      Use hot glue gun to tack down parts of the ribbon as you go.
6.      Once your flower is the desired size, tuck the loose end under the flower and hot glue the end.
7.      Add pearl, button or rhinestone to the center of the flower and you are done.
.
You can find a complete supply list on the Emma's Paperie Blog along with the other designers amazing projects.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week!
