My girls have started writing a story together. K does the writng and L is the illustrator. Their story is set during the time of Paul Revere's ride (yes, my oldest is also a history lover). It is about a young deer (did I mention it is Historical Fiction?LOL) whose father is a minute man and goes off to fight against the British. I am so impressed by what they have so far. The pictures my youngest has drawn are so detailed and well thought out. I love seeing them express themselves creatively.
.
Speaking of creative expressions, I have another Emma's project to share with you today. I created this stationary and gift box for this month's workshop. You can find all the instructions and supplies on the Emma's Paperie blog along with the other designer's amazing workshops.

Love never fails
Have you ever heard this song by Brandon Heath? Sitting here listening to K-love just taking in this wonderful message. What a great way to start the morning. :)
.
I hope everyone is having a good morning. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground again this morning. Getting out and shoveling the driveway this morning was not what I really wanted to do or had time to do, but it sure is beautiful.
.
So I have a couple of cards to share with you. The first is a card I made for Magistical Memories using one of the new Heart Swirl pieces that Crystle just released earlier this month. Beautiful isn't it. The paper is from one of my new favorites by Graphic 45. Love the gorgeous colors in this line, so soft and pretty.
.
This second card is for this week's challenge over at Card-a-licious. We were asked to create a card using at least two flowers, one sticker and polka dots. I have fallen in love with my new Flower Layers die by Sizzix. I used it to create that awesome flower at the bottom of the card. So easy to make great flowers with lots of dimension.
Also, I still haven't heard from Patty O and Ellen S. Both were winners of the magazines I was giving away. Ladies, please send me your address so I can send you your magazines!
Have a great day everyone!

This little girl...
is still not feeling good. See that smile on her face? That is pretty much her usual. We get comments all the time about how happy and sweet both the girls are. That has not been the case this weekend. She cried about going to school on Friday. Cried about going to Sunday School on Sunday and threw an absolute fit this morning getting out of the car at school. She has been cranky and tired. As trying as it has been, I really feel bad for her. It is so out of character for her that I know she is just not feeling right yet. We are going to stay home from gymnastics tonight, get to bed early and get some good cuddle time in. I think I will take her to lunch today.
I apologize for not announcing the winners of my magazines on Friday. I do have the winners for you today though. The first magazine goes to.....
Ellen S.!!!!
and the second one goes to....
Patty O.!!!!!
Congrats ladies! Please e-mail me your address and I will get those out to you!
I have actually been working on a few things and just need to get some pictures. I hope to share them with you tomorrow. Until then, have a wonderful day!!!

Sigh
Thank you for all your well wishes for my sweet girl yesterday. L made it through the school day yesterday but did not feel very good. I was volunteering in the library yesterday afternoon and as soon as I saw her walk in I just knew. The poor kid. She decided to go to gymnastics because there was a special guest speaker coming but had her coach call me early to come pick her up. That is the real indicator there. That child will not miss gymnastics for ANYTHING. So...I kept her home from school today. She is taking a nap already and it is only 9:30. Another indicator that she is feeling lousy.

Still working on my project for Sizzix but I do have a card to share with you this morning. Sweet Anabelle created this awesome sketch for us over at the Emma's Paperie blog last week.

I have also been checking an awesome website called 100 Layer Cake lately. They have so many inspiring photos on this site. I used this photo as a color inspiration for my card.

And here is my card based on the sketch and photo above. Make sure to check out the other designers take on the sketch on the Emma's Paperie Blog.

Feeling Like a Bad Mom
Morning everyone!
.
I just got back from taking the girls to school and I feel terrible. L was crying all morning telling me that she is not feeling well again. She had a stomach bug on Monday, would have missed school if there had been school. She stayed inside all day and really wasn't feeling good. She hasn't thrown up since early, early Monday morning. Yesterday she was feeling almost back to normal and spent the snow day playing with the neighbors. This morning she woke up, came down to my room and said she felt great. About 15 minutes later she started crying and saying her stomach hurt again. I made her go to school anyway. :( The teacher in me just can't keep her home unless she is running a fever or throwing up. Now I am sitting here wondering how she is doing. So please say a prayer for my little sweetie that she starts feeling better after getting to school and gets going.
.
I really don't have anything that I can share with you right now. I have been working on a few assignments and will share those as soon as I can. Mostly though I have been reorganizing my scrap room. I really needed to make room for all the new CHA stuff coming, a bunch of really cool Sizzix dies to be exact. A few of them already came this last weekend and I plan on playing some today. Hopefully I will have a card to share with you tomorrow. Until then I did have a few magazines to give away.
.
Here is what I have:
All you have to do to win a copy of one of these magazines is leave a comment telling me what your favorite new CHA release is or your favorite organization tip. Make sure to tell me which magazine you would rather have as well.
.
Have a great day and I hope to have something to share with you tomorrow. (If one sweet little girl can make it through the day! Thanks for stopping by!

Some new goodies
Hi everyone!
I have been hanging out with my girls again today. L started complaining of a stomach ache last night after dinner. She came in during the night three times before 2 am complaining about her stomach. Each time I would climb out of my cozy bed and take her upstairs and sit with her until she fell back to sleep. Some time around 2 she came back to notify me that this time that she finally "did it" (her words exactly) Even though she had finally gotten sick, it didn't help her sleep any better. Poor thing was up three more times during the night. Lucky for her though, we have been getting quite a bit of snow today and school was cancelled. K hung out with us this morning and has been outside playing with the neighbors all afternoon.
In between snuggling with my sweet girl, I have been trying to clean my scrap room. It is such a disaster that it has zapped me of all my creative juices. I decided if I was going clean and organize I would do it right, so I am going through all my design team stuff and getting rid of that is out dated to make room for new CHA product.
Speaking of new product, I wanted to share some of the new chipboard from Magistical Memories. These are just a few of the new pieces, you can find all the new stuff here.
I just adore these wings. Aren't they awesome?
My mind is just swirling with card ideas using this beauty.
The new butterfly pieces are gorgeous too!

Full House and Valentines sweets
Yesterday was a busy day. The girls stayed with a neighbor while I went to the dentist. I just couldn't put it off any longer. I was supposed to go on Friday but cancelled due to the snow day. The rest of the afternoon was lovely though. I just adore having all of these sweet little neighbor girls over. They came for lunch and stayed until dinner. The kids spent a fair amount of time playing outside but then warmed up inside, giggling and running around. Love that.
Today they have a two hour delay and then I will be helping in the computer lab. I thought I would post a quick Valentine's project for you first. It was really quite easy. This was the first time I attempted the chocolate lollipops and I have to say, I was quite happy with the way these turned out. I did mess up one batch, I think I cooked the chocolate too long. I used the melting chocolate from Wilton and they are very yummy too. As for the container I simply painted a paper mache oval box with brown paint and covered it with pattern paper. The ribbon is from Webster's Pages and all the tags are from Making Memories. You can find all the supplies on the Emma's Paperie Blog.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Snowed In
Good Morning,
.
It is hard to believe but we have another snow day! The girls have been playing their DSs and just hanging out this morning and will definitely be sledding later this afternoon.
.
I love that the girls are old enough now to entertain themselves. I got up this morning, found out school was cancelled, called the neighbor, and then went back to bed. I got some well needed sleep.
.
I have a Valentine's Day layout to share with you today. I created this layout for the color challenge on the Emma's Paperie Blog last week. We were asked to use reds, pinks, and whites. The picture is one of my MIL and L that I captured during their visit this last Christmas. You can find the supply list and the other designer's projects on the Emma's Paperie blog.
.
.
Have a great day and I hope you stay warm!

Good morning everyone!
Just a quick post this morning. It is going to be a busy but fun day. I get to start helping out at another elementary school this morning. Our church is partnering with one of the lower income schools in town to help try to bring the kids' reading scores up. I am really looking forward to this, because although I help out at my girls' school all the time, I feel like a really have a chance to make a difference here. I miss teaching a lot and this is a way for me to use my talents to help someone else. Then after leaving that school, I get to go help K's class in the computer lab. It is a great way to get to know the kids in her class a little bit better.
This evening we have a babysitter coming so DH and I can go see a murder mystery to benefit a local charity. I have not been to a murder mystery in years. I am sure it is going to be a wonderful time.
I did want to share two quick projects with you before I go though. The first is a layout I created for a recent CK call. We love visiting Chicago and Geno's East is one of our favorite stops. I added speech bubbles for a unique twist on the journaling.
I created this card right before leaving for CHA for the Card-a-licous challenge this last week. The challenge was to use a tag and at least three different papers. Make sure to stop by and check out all the other designers fabulous work!

Sweet treats
Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was wonderful to have some quality time with my sweet family. I am so glad we decided to skip the gymnastics meet this weekend. As much as I enjoy going, it was nice to have a weekend to just sit home and soak up some little girl goodness.
.
I am off to Jazzercise (really need to work off all that wonderful food that I ate in CA). Before I go though I did want to share a project with you. I created this cute little candy box for the Emma's Paperie Blog before I left for CHA. I just love these see through tins. They are perfect for holiday treats, especially those with bright colors. :) You can find all the supplies and instructions on the Emma's Paperie Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic week!
