Loved ones near

If you are looking for the CMH Hoopla Challenge click here.

Morning everyone!

So happy to have my sweet K home this morning.  She spent the last 4 days at church camp.  She has a wonderful time but apparently not a lot of sleep. :)  We go for lunch today to pick up L from her grandparents. They were here visiting last week and took her to Illinois with them for a few days.  It will be nice to have the girls home with me again.  It has been way too quiet.

I have to take a minute to brag on my camper.  She is apparently a budding photographer.  They could choose different activities that they wanted to participate in at camp.  She chose soccer (no surprise there) which they took second place in, creative writing (she got third place for her story) and photography, which she walked away with a first place medal in.  The only help I gave her was to let her use my camera and suggested she take lots of photos at lots of different angles.  I then showed her how to crop the photo in Adobe.  This was her entry.

Pretty huh?

Speaking of family, I would like you to keep us in your prayers.  We have had lot of troubling news lately.  My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer while I was on vacation.  Thankfully it looks like they have caught it early and the prognosis is good. We also received news that my sister-in-laws dad has prostate cancer and DH's uncle has a tumor behind his eye that he will need surgery on.  It is a scary time around here and we would greatly appreciate any prayers you have.

We also have more loved ones on our mind.  I am so excited to have friends coming to visit us from Bloomington this weekend.  Miss them terribly!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

First off, prayers for you and your family, Lisa. It's hard enough dealing with one of these issues, but three? :( Hugs to you! I'm so happy for you that your girls are back home. I have the opposite problem. Alexa doesn't want to go to sleepover camp any more so I think she'll never leave home. LOL! :) Now on to your beautiful LO...I love how the colors really pop against the dark background and the design is awesome and fun!

So sorry to hear the scary news with your family members, Lisa! Definitely keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers! (hugs)
But so glad to hear you are getting both your girls back with you after their trips. Sounds like they both had a wonderful time. K's photograph is just beautiful! You gave her some great advice, as the angle on the flower is fabulous. SO love your fun layout, too! The black background really pops and I adore the patchwork border. Love how you used the journaling tags, too!

I so wish a cure for cancer will be found soon. Will keep your family in my prayers. It is not an easy diagnosis to deal with and makes you look at life differently. Love the photo your daughter took--so pretty! And the layout is adorable--love the color combo.

FIL is also diagnosed with that and very early. he was told that he will die of something else before that gets to him. Best wishes to your family and your dad!
