Friendship

I have been doing a lot of thinking about how lucky DH, the girls and I are to have so many dear, sweet friends. After several moves, we have friends from Texas to Wisconsin and from California to West Virginia. Each and everyone of these wonderful friends have changed us and made an inpact to last a lifetime. I have also made so many wonderful friends through this amazing hobby that really brings people from all over the country together. I hope all of you know how dear you are to me.
.
We have also made so many great friends here. I am looking forward to spending the day with a a good friend shopping in a quaint little town close by. I am sure it will be a lot of fun. We may even find a thing or two that we NEED to buy. :)
.
Speaking of friends, I stumbled across the song recently called "A Friend Like You" by Geoff Moore. I have had this picture of K & L with some of their friends from Indy and the song fit it perfectly. I did this layout for the Border Challenge over at Magistical Memories that I mentioned in the last post. It is not too late for you to join in. Link it back to that post and I will pick a winner to send a RAK. I promise to make it a good one. :)

Along the top of the layout I added some Potty People from Magistical Memories. I simply painted them with a light cream and then embossed them with clear embossing powder. The pattern is much more noticable in person. Couldn't help adding a little Creative Charms bling to each of the scallops too.
.
I worked on a birthday card also this weekend. This one uses one of the yummy Cupcakes from Magistical Memories. I knew I wanted the top of the cupcake to look like frosting but when I went to get my Texturizer from Delta that I have always used, I found out that it was all gone. No problem, Hobby Lobby is on the way to school, I will just stop in and pick some up. After searching the whole acrylic paint section to no avail I asked for help. I found out that they no longer carry it. :( I then made a trip to both Michael's and JoAnn's to find the same thing. I great associate at Michael's helped me find a similar product in the art department though. I ended up using Golden Light Molding Paste. I am very happy with way it created a frosting like look although I was not completely happy with the way it looked at first. There were areas that were kind of grainy looking (not what you would perfer your frosting to look like!) :) I decided to cover the top of the cupcake with Sparkle Glaze by Delta and that made a huge difference. Love the shine and glitter it gave the frosting.
.

.
Of course had to add some Creative Charms rhinestones to this one also. :) The bottom of the card was created using some of the Dear Lizzy fabric paper. It is a little hard to tell from the photo, but I frayed the edges of the fabric for a little extra texture.
.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful week and don't forget it is not too late to take part in this challenge over at Magistical Memories.

Fabulous stuff, my friend!
