Birthdays

What happens to us as we get older? Why do we decide that birthdays are so terrible and dreaded? I mean we are going to get older anyway. Birthdays are supposed to be a day to celebrate the wonderful people God has put in our lives no matter how old or young they are. I started to think about this because Saturday is DH's birthday and my youngest can hardly contain herself. It is so cute. She has declared that Saturday is Daddy's day and was quite upset at the thought that she would have to go to gymnastics practice for part of his day. Keep in mind this is the same child that Wednesday, on the way back home from practice said, "Only three more days until I get to have gymnastics again!" I want to have that innocent excitement about birthdays again. I tell you, some of the best lessons I learn are from my girls. Love them!

I have another project to share with you. I did this layout using a bunch of Magistical Memories Chipboard and lots of yummy papers. Don't know what I would do without pattern paper. LOL

The background paper is actually some Halloween paper from Creative Imaginations. I just loved the pattern and had to use it. The bottom strip of paper is tan cardstock that I fringed to mimic the indian girl's dress.

The pilgrim and indian are called Potty People from Magistical Memories. They come in a set of about six with two large and four small people. These two large were holding hands so I cut them apart. I am not sure if you can see from the picture but I inked and then fringed the indian's clothes. The leaf also comes from Magistical Memories. I cut pp to fit, sanded it a bit, inked it and then applied UTEE. I put it in the freezer for just a couple of minutes and then cracked the UTEE.

Hope you enjoy your weekend. We will be celebrating. :)

Lisa, Saturday is my husband's birthday too (his 40th!)! Happy Birthday to your husband! I am so glad you started a blog. I love to read it. You are so sweet, and have the most positive outlook on life. You are a happy person, and reading your blog always puts a smile on my face. And of course I love to see your scrapbook pages here and on 2Peas!

Lis: This LO is nothing short of FANTASTIC!!! I LOVE the fringe and the jewels and all of it. Great job! Sophie was reading over my shoulder and said "Mommy, why are they called Potty People?". Darn her for learning to read LOL.

Wow, what a gorgeous page! I love everything about it!
and happy belated bday to your DH. I know exactly what you mean about birthdays. I have a hard time getting excited about mine any longer. Had to muster up the enthusiasm to be happy about it, but my daughter thinks it's the best day ever. She was SO excited for me, that it really starts to wear off on you. Thank goodness for our blessings!
