Such a Happy Day

Morning everyone!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Ours was busy as usual but lots of fun.  The girls both had sports activities on Saturday morning, practice for L and a soccer game for K.  Afterwards DH was working a booth at the Women's Expo so we went down to visit him.  Got some super cute hair clips for girls, feather earrings for L, a book on soap making for L, and some fudge. :)

Saturday night was the best though.  We went to see the IU soccer team play against Notre Dame.  About twice a year they come to play games here and we always try to get tickets.  Makes if feel a little bit like Bloomington.  We still miss that town so much.  It was an amazing game. IU scored a goal in the last 7 seconds to tie it up and then won in overtime.  GO IU!  :)

Lots on my plate today.  My parents come on Thursday to visit.  There is a gymnastics meet this weekend and a skating competition they are coming to see.  I have to finish cleaning my house and have some crafty things to get done before they get here.

Before I go I wanted to share my project for Emma's Paperie this week. We were given this adorable photo as our color inspiration.  Oh man, there were so many yummy colors in the photo, I couldn't possibly skip even one of them.  Loved how bright and fun the colors were.

So I decided to use them all and came up with this card.  I am a sucker for lots of pattern papers so creating this card definitely made me happy.

Hope you have a wonderful day and thank you so much for stopping by!

Spring Break in Photos

Happy Monday!

Warning this is a photo heavy post this morning.  I finally got a few of our photos from our spring break edited to share with you.  This is seriously only a few of the many photos we took.  It was such a fun trip and we really did do so much during this one week.

Our trip started at Niagara Falls.  Thanks to my father-in-law we changed our trip a bit to make sure that we saw the falls from the Canada side.  The falls are gorgeous no matter what but the view is definitely better in Canada.

It was a bit rainy our first day a the falls and so we changed our plans a bit.  We had planned on taking a helicopter ride on that first day and then leave early the next morning.  Instead we went up on the morning of our second day there and then got a few more pictures (like the one above) and then left.

The helicopter ride was amazing and such a wonderful way to see the falls.  The girls LOVED it.

After seeing the falls we found a restaurant on the Canada side called Margaritaville. Such a fun place. This sweet women was our entertainment. She made quite elaborate balloon wings for the girls but not without first having some fun with L's hair. LOL

After we left Buffalo we headed to New York City where we did some of the main touristy type stuff.  (wish we would have had more time there).  We took a boat out to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.

Isn't she beautiful?

We went up in the Empire State Building and got some cool pictures of the city.

And of course we saw Wicked on Broadway.  DH and I love musicals and have seen a fair share over the years but this was by far one of my favorites, second only to when we saw Mama Mia in London.  It was amazing and as you can guess, the girls LOVED it!!!

We followed the show with dinner at Azalea. YUM

We left NYC and headed to Philadelphia.  We got to tour a few older homes.  This is Bishop Whites' house.  It was part of a tour with the tour of the Todd house (Dolly Madison's house before she became Dolly Madison) :)

We also saw Betsy Ross' house (no photos allowed inside) but we did get to see a demonstration of how they used to make chocolate. Not as yummy as what we have today.  :)

You can't leave Philly without seeing Ben Franklin's print shop. Very cool!

And of course, we HAD TO visit the "Rocky Stars" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We took the coolest carriage ride around town. The driver was fantastic.

And yes...we definitely made sure to see the bell.

I can't leave you without sharing my latest creation.  I created this layout for the Challenge Me Happy Blog.  For Challenge #21 we given an awesome photo inspiration.  You can find the photo and details about the challenge here.  Please think about joining us.  There is a great prize from My Little Shoebox up for grabs!

Have a fabulous week!!!

There's No Place Like Home

Ahhh, I do love to travel but it is nice to be home!  I seriously love my bed. :)  I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  We were able to make it home from vacation in time to spend a quiet Easter at home.

DH and I decided it was the perfect time to take the girls on a car trip for Spring Break (ala National Lampoon's Vacation).  No...I have not shared that movie with them YET but it is getting hard to hold DH off.  He loves those movies.

Anyway, we started the trip driving to Niagara Falls.  Absolutely gorgeous, so glad I finally had a chance to see them.  We had planned to only see them from the American side and not mess with passports until we talked to my FIL.  So glad he convinced us to update our passports and see the falls from Canada's side.  It was definitely worth going through customs.

Then we were off to New York City.  We took a trip out to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, went up in the Empire State Building and got to see Wicked on Broadway.  That is definitely one of my absolute favorite shows I have ever seen.  It was amazing.

Our final stop on the trip was Philadelphia.  We made sure to see the liberty bell and Constitution Hall, took a carriage ride with the BEST driver.  She was sweet and really knew her stuff.  Learned so much about the town.  We also did tours of Betsy Ross' house, The Todd House (Dolly Madison's home before she became a first lady) and Ben Franklin's Print Shop.  We couldn't leave without climbing the Rocky stairs at the Museum of Art.  :)  That was DH's request.  :)

I don't have pictures for you yet.  I haven't had time to load and edit anything but I will hopefully share them later this week.  My laundry room is threatening that though.  :)

I thought I would share a layout I made before I left though.  I created this layout using some of the new My Mind's Eye from Emma's Paperie.  Just adore their stuff.  Before we left Bloomington  L's 4th grade class did a musical version of Alice in Wonderland and our sweet L got to play Alice.  She practiced really hard and I am so proud of the great job she did.  I finally got around to scrapping the pictures.

The layout is actually straight IRL.  Had a hard time getting the lines straight in the photo of the layout though.  You can visit the Emma's Paperie Blog to find my supply list.

Have a wonderful week and thank you so much for stopping by!

Smile

Hi everyone!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  We have been taking full advantage of the warm weather, that is for sure!

I don't have a ton of time today but I did want to post a card I did for Emma's Paperie.  Jessica Witty created our sketch this month.  I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.  I think I am going to have to go back and create a layout based off this great sketch too!

And here is my card.

I will post in a few days a tutorial on how to make this simple but fun flower.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your week!
