The sound of sweet giggles

I love hearing those sweet little giggles float up from the basement where my girls play with their friends. :) This weekend we had the neighbors over for a cookout and then the kids all stayed the night. After dinner the kids went downstairs to watch a movie and the adults played cards. It was so much fun, I hope we can do it again soon.
.
I can't believe it is only Tuesday and I am already tired. After taking L to gymnastics last night we met with K's teacher. I can't say enough how much I love this woman. They are doing so many great things in that class and she is so caring and on top of things. Take for instance the conference last night, she likes to meet with the parents early so she can get a feel for her students before we get too far into the year. Love that!
.
Tonight we get our hair cut right after school (woohoo!) and then we meet with the girls' dentist after that. He wants to put a second retainer in K's mouth for her bottom teeth. Not sure I am ready for ANOTHER retainer!
.
OK, enough about our busy life. I do want to share some cards with you today. The first is a card I made using the most recent color inspiration photo on the Emma's Paperie Blog. I just loved the summery yellows and gorgeous blues and browns.
The next card was created for the Card-a-licious challenge blog. Our challenge this week was to create a friendship card using the colors pink, orange and green.
The final card I want to share with uses some of the adorable new chipboard from Magistical Memories. When I saw this cute little octopus I knew exactly what the card had to say. The inside of the card says "I am here for you. "
Hope the rest of your week is amazing. Thanks for stopping by!

Time with family

Happy Monday morning!

Hope your weekend was wonderful. We got to spend the weekend with my in-laws and sweet neice. They came over on Friday soon after the girls got home from school and stayed until yesterday afternoon. My girls are loving that their cousin is getting to an age where she can play with them. Can you say "spoiled"? Oh my word, they did EVERYTHING for that little sweetie. One of their favorite things to do is dress her up. LOL I did get a chance to snap a few pictures.

Excuse L's crazy hair. She had been tumbling all around the living room (what's new?) LOL

That mouse costume makes me smile. L wore that costume for Halloween when she was my neices' age. You may be wondering why we still have a costume that L wore 6 years ago. Well, the reason we still have this costume is because L was still squeezing her body into that very stretchy mouse costume until last year. We would laugh ever time she came up from the playroom in that thing, the elastic at the bottom barely covering her knees. I have no idea how she ever zipped it without catching her skin in the process. Still makes me giggle thinking of it.
I have a project to share with you also today. I created this candy bar wrap for my designer class this week on the Emma's Paperie Blog. Check out the blog to find a list of supplies and directions.

It's School Time again

Well, the girls have officially started school again. Wednesday was their first day and they both really seem to be enjoying themselves. L did not know anyone in her class but has already made a good friend. K is liking school a lot too which is an answered prayer. She started Wednesday morning by telling me how much she does not like school. When she got off the bus I asked her about her day and she said it was great! It may have had a little to do with the fact that two of her closest friends here are in her class. :)

They had a meet the teacher on Tuesday night and so I got a few pictures of the girls with their new teachers.

.

.
I also got a picture of them with the principal...

.
And of course a picture on the first day of school. :)

.
I enjoyed the first day of school too. One of my sweet neighbors invited me over for breakfast after the girls went to school. She is such a wonderful woman and I am so thankful to have her living across the street.
.
I have been doing a little bit of scrapbooking too. I created this pillow box on Wednesday after getting back from breakfast. I wish the photo picked up more of the details on the cream colored paper. It is so much more elegant looking in person.

.

I also worked on a mini album for Emma's today but I can't share that quite yet.

.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Sports weekend

Happy Monday everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was quite busy, trying to get a few things in before the girls start school. I can't believe that school starts on Wednesday already. There are mixed feelings around our house about this. L is excited to be starting school. Can't wait to find our who her teacher is and who is in her class. K on the other hand, is not excited at all. She would rather summer never end. Me? I am in the middle. I am going to miss having the girls around but I am also ready to get back to my school year activities. I signed up yesterday for a Bible study at our new church that starts in September. I am hoping that the girls' teachers are open to having volunteers, especially K's. As she gets older I know there will be fewer and fewer opportunities for me to see her with her classmates.

This weekend we took the girls to Colts training camp. They had their Colt's city set up for the kids.

There were bounce houses and a rock climbing wall. Some of the cheerleaders were out signing autographs.
..............

Then we watched a scrimmage between the defense and offense. K is such a sports lover and was really into the game.

I even got some good pictures of our man Peyton!

Yesterday after church we drove up to Indianapolis to catch an Indians baseball game. We still had tickets from the cancelled 4th of July game. It was quite hot but we had seats in the shade and the game was good. I just wish we would have won. :)

I've got a couple of cards to share with you from the Card-a-licous blog for today. For the first challenge Janelle gave us was to use a baby card using ribbon and stitching. Here is my card:
The challenge for this weeks card was to use a journaling spot, ribbon and flowers.
Hope you have a great week and thanks for stopping by!!!

A wonderful visit

With each move, I am reminded more and more, how lucky we are to have such dear friends. Our visit to Arkansas last week was even better than I had hoped. We did a lot of catching up and spending time with our friends. The time went by way too quickly (except the 11 hour drive each way) LOL One of the days we stopped in a Party City after lunch to pick up a few happy birthday plates to celebrate all the girls' birthdays.

While we were there I found these fake mustaches for a dollar. It was one of the best dollars I have ever spent. The kids had such a great time with them. Using them for everything from their intended purpose...

To sideburns and a unibrow and inanimate objects...

It was so hot and humid that the girls spent some time in a small pool in the backyard.

And there was even some downtime to enjoy just being together.

I look forward to seeing them again soon.
I have been busy doing my assignments but I haven't had time to always share them with you. So I thought I would share a project with you. I created this layout for Emma's Paperie blog a couple of weeks ago. We were asked to do a project using some of the wonderful punches Cindy has in the store.

I used one of the Martha Steward butterfly punches on some fun foam that the girls had in their craft box to create the backs of the butterflies. I then punched a second butterfly out of pattern paper and slightly trimmed the edges. The bottom edge of the mat was also punched.

I used a circle punch to create the scallop at the top of the photo.

Thank you for stopping by!!! Have a wonderful week everyone!
