Great Mail Day!

Happy Friday everyone!

It was a VERY good mail day yesterday! I got my kit from Lime Tart and all my goodies from Emma's Paperie! Yayyy!

Let me start with a little teaser from the Lime Tart kit. I got the Full Tart and here is just a little taste of what is in store for everyone who orders it.

Do you recognize those papers? Ohh...man do I love Webster's Pages. I am going to have fun with this one! :)

OK, so now for the other box I got. I got so many yummy things from Emma's that I couldn't help sitting down and creating one little card for you last night. I used the most recent sketch over at the CPS blog for this one.

Isn't that little owl cut the cutest thing? I am loving all the adorable holiday stuff from Crafy Secrets. The small Happy Halloween tag is from Making Memories. They sold out really quick but Cindy tells me they will be back in the store any day now.

One more card for you. I made this card using one of the new stamps from Just Johanna. I just love that little mushroom house.

Hmmm...do you think I have done enough enabling for the day? LOL Have a spectacular holiday weekend!

It's Sneak Peek day!

I have found a new favorite author. Oh man, she is good! A friend gave me the book Oceans Apart by Karen Kinsbury. I am definitely going to have to find another one of her books. Excellent read if you like Christian Fiction.

I have two sneak peaks to show you today! :)

First I wanted to share a little peak of one of the new Lime Tart kits. No I did not get my box yet but I am anxiously still waiting. :)

This peak if from the Full Tart kit. There are three kits in all and you can check them out here. I just can't wait to start playing with those beads! :)

My other sneak is for a fabulous issue Paper Crafts has recently put out called Cards, Gifts & More: Paper Crafting 3 Ways. I just got my copy a couple of days ago and I have to say it is absolutely fabulous! I wanted to share one of my projects with you from the book. The concept of this section was to step up a project (easy, medium, and a little more complex)

Hope to get some cards done today in between the laundry and cleaning up my kitchen. I will try to share some with your tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

And it's gone!

Finally! My sweet girls have been blessed with teeth that choose to stay in their bodies for a very long time. :) At age 7 Lauren has lost her second time. This tooth has been loose so long but did not want to come out. As we were sitting in church on Sunday, she started wiggling that thing like crazy. I was sure we were going to have it fall out in the middle of the service, blood and all. Thankfully it hung in there (no pun intended!) a little longer and we pulled it out after church.

I can't wait...the new Lime Tart kit is on its way to my house at this minute. Yummy, yum, yum. I will have a peak for you as soon as I get it!

Have a fabulouth day! :)

What a fabulous weekend!

Whew...I thought weekends were supposed to be relaxing! :) Just kidding of course. I love spending time with my kiddos on the weekend and as I mentioned earlier, I love soccer. Saturday was filled with soccer, gymnastics and then a bike ride that afternoon. I wasn't able to get pictures from Katie's game since I had to take Lauren to gymnastics, although I did get full report. I got to watch Katie dominate the goal and not let anyone even close to scoring. That is her favorite position and she does play it well. We had to leave after the first quarter and didn't get to see her team win 7-0!

Lauren's team played Saturday afternoon and was down early 0-4. I have to laugh because I think I saw the exact moment Lauren decided to do something about that score. I wish I would have got a picture. I looked up and she just had this very unhappy look on her face. It was not long after that, that she helped her team score 4 goals to tie up the game. Here are a few pictures for you.
This one was early in the game. Notice the lack of sweat. Man, it was hot Saturday afternoon.
OK, so I know you can't see her face but look at that action shot! Love this pic.

This picture was taken right before the ball went in for her second goal.

OK, so how about some project pictures fo you now? Have you made it over to Emma's to see the new projects that are up? Why not? Come on move it! You definitely don't want to miss the amazing work posted over there. I tell you, I am constantly honored to be a part of that talented team! So here is my card for the sketch this week.

I have one more card to share with you today. I made this one using some goodies from Emma's too.

Yipee!!! OK, So I don't usually post on the weekends-too much soccer and gymnastics and family time. But I did want to post real quick to let you know that Cindy just put up new projects at Emma's Paperie! Project day just makes me so happy. These girls seriously rock!

Have a very happy weekend. I am off to watch another soccer game. I just love soccer season! :)

Feeling Old

So yes, as I walk up the stairs my knee hurts, my body creaks and I have more wrinkles than I can photoshop out. :) That is not why I feel old though. One of favorite radio stations to listen to while I scraps plays great "oldies", yes that's right, music from the 70's, 80's and 90's. That is what did it. They played a song today by Whitesnake. You remember Whitesnake don't you? LOL I have to admit, that did bring back memories. I wouldn't have classified myself as a head banger in high school but I did love Whitesnake and Bon Jovi. sigh...Jon Bon Jovi...who didn't love him. :)

OK, so enough about my ancient ways. How about a few projects? This first project was for a glitter challenge at Emma's Paperie. I figured the best subject for this awesome challenge would be a mini album about Lauren's recent birthday party at Libby Lu. Have you been there? Oh, man, I wish they would have had places like this when I was a kid! (If they did they probably would have been playing oldies like Whitesnake over the radio LOL)

One more project for you. I have to admit, as a kid, I hated the color orange. I had a bright orange bedspread for as long as I can remember. It definitely had an impact on my feeling for the color. Lately, I can't get enough of it. Here is one of my favorite orange projects.
Have an amazing weekend!

Paper, Scissors and Projects

Can I just say that I love our school! The teachers are so amazing and this year is no exception. The girls have been in school a little over a week and they are both enjoying it so much. Lauren's teacher came highly recommended by her first grade teacher. That is the sweet teacher I made the mini album for that I posted a few weeks ago. She is such a doll. Well, she was completely spot on about this teacher we love her. The teacher I am really excited about is Katie's teacher. She went through a time in second grade where she was not liking school much at all. Last year was definitely better. This year is completely different. She comes home every day beaming and telling me that she had a great day. As a teacher, I couldn't be happier. :)

So I actually thought that I was going to have a layout to share with you today but you are going to have to wait. I will tell you that it is going to be in a Memory Makers book soon. :) I will share it as soon as I can. I do have two cards for you today though.

I used my circle punch to to create the outside border to make the card look like a stamp.

I don't know about you, but I am ready for Halloween. Fall is definitely my favorite season. So here is a card I made using some of the Halloween papers from Die Cuts With a View. I stamped the little mummy on canvas paper to give him some texture.

I have been tagged by sweet Betsy!

I love a sale!

It's true, I do love a sale and sometimes it gets me into trouble. Today I get to go back to Macy's and return all 4 dresses I got for Lauren. She is such a girly girl and loves wearing dresses. So I was quite excited when I saw that all their dresses for girls were on sale. I get them home and ALL of them are vetoed after she tries them on. Of course, the one she liked, I vetoed. It showed WAY too much!

Speaking of sales, you have to check out these adorable stamps Johanna is offering at Just Johanna! Look at the adorable stamps I used to create this card! You get 5 stamps and save 25%.

Here is a picture of the stamps you get in the set.

Have a fabulous day!

High School Musical is in the house

EVERYDAY! LOL The girls went to my in-laws house before school started this year to attend a High School Musical camp. I have to admit, I wasn't really sure about this camp before it started but they did a really nice job. The girls learned dance steps to a bunch of HSM2 songs. The last day they put on a show for all the parents. The results, HSM2 plays in our house 24/7 while the girls dance around the house. Here are a few pictures from the show.

No scrappin' this weekend. I spent the weekend hangin' out with my sweet girls. I do have two layouts to share that have been in recent issues of Memory Makers though if you want to see them.

This layout is about Katie and one of her best friends that moved to California right before second grade. We have kept in close contact with their family. Last year they were able to come back to the midwest for Katie's birthday. It was the best surprise. I wanted to document their relationship so I made this layout for the Fabulous Friendships book.

We went to visit my brother last year for spring break in NC. After we got back I created this layout which can be seen in the July issue of Memory Makers. (sorry the photo is a little blurry)

Hope you enjoy your Monday!

A couple of projects for you

Morning everyone!

Kimber is bringing over her sweet girl Laura for me to watch today so I don't have a lot of time to post but I did want to share a couple more Lime Tart projects with you. I seriously had so much fun with this kit. I am hoping to do another card or two using up the rest of my scraps. I used the Just Johanna stamps that were in the kit this month on both of these projects. I can see myself using that Just a Note stamp A LOT!!! Love it!

I made this notepad by printing lines on 8x4 paper and then adding pattern paper around the outside. Finished it off with a couple of stamps at the bottom.

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!

Party, pictures and projects!

Morning everyone!

The girls started school on Tuesday so we decided to have an end of summer party on Monday. Each of the girls invited 6 girls over for water fun and ice cream sundaes. They had such a blast and I have to admit, I loved watching them and listening to all the shrieking and giggling. I always thought I was going to be the mom of boys, but I adore having two little girls! I got some really good pictures of some of the other kids too but here are a few of the girls.

We filled 300 balloons...

Check out Katie's face in this one! :)

Lauren's best friend was trying to get her with the hose. :)

This is what happens when you let the kids make their own sundaes. We are out of whip cream btw! :) Are you surprises???

Now for some projects. I am so excited. I can finally share my projects I have been working on. I just have to say, the Lime Tart girls have come up with some A-MAZ-ING work this month. WOW!!! Here are a few of my projects and you can click here to see some of the other ladies' work. Make sure to check out all three of the gallery links at the top.

Cindy has also posted our glitter projects on the Emma's Paperie blog and it is all so sparkly and beautiful! You HAVE to check out those gorgeous projects!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

Quiet

Not a sound...This takes me some time to get used to every year. I miss the girls' giggles from another room. I had to turn on some music as soon as I came it from taking them to the bus. It was just too quiet.

Everything went smoothly this morning. I was a little worried that Katie would be worried about her first day. She doesn't know anyone who is in her class and she has not had a chance to meet her teacher but all went well. No nightmares this year (that is a first! :) ) My girl is definitely growing up! Lauren couldn't be more excited. She got to meet her teacher on Sunday (a real sweetie) and knows almost everyone in her class. They were both smiles climbing on the bus this morning.

So I am going to try and enjoy my quiet time today. Hope you enjoy your day as well!

Weekend bliss

Happy Monday!

Our weekend with friends was absolutely fabulous! We had so much fun and the girls didn't want to leave. Don't you just love that when you have friends and the kids just seem to fall right into place? They played together like they were best friends.

I got a bunch of great pictures with my NEW CAMERA! A package came Friday for Greg and so I put it on his desk. When he got home he called me down to open it. He got me my replacement camera the day I actually crunched the car. Man, I have the sweetest guy! Anyway, for my birthday he improved the lens. :) I now have an 18-200mm lens. I can't stop beaming and I am dying for soccer to start. I had been wanting that lens to get closer up pictures of soccer. YEA!!!!

I have been working on my projects for Lime Tart. I just can't wait to share them with you. I am absolutely in love with the Just Johanna stamps that came in this month's kit. They are fabulous.
Check in on Thursday when I will be able to share. :)

OK, so now for a project for you. The color challenge is up at Emma's blog. Our guest designer this month is Hilary Kanwischer and she did an amazing job. I have to tell you these women amaze me every month! So head over there and check it out! Here is my layout for the challenge. We were asked to use orange this month. Mmmmm...I just love that Kaiser Craft paper don't you?

I did this layout for Emma's Paperie also. We were asked to use the white stationary boxes. These boxes have a clear cover. The innovative ideas everyone came up with blew me away! Here is mine.

Have a great day!!!!!

TGIF

Yes, I am glad it is Friday. :) I am really looking forward to this weekend. We get the chance to go visit some friends from college. Every summer we get together with Bob and Tracy and usually two other couples and their families. Sadly, this summer it didn't work out. Between our trips and VBS we were unable to make it when everyone else did. Bob and Tracy have two girls about the same age as Katie and Lauren so they are sure to have a blast. It promises to be a nice relaxing day by the pool.

Sunday afternoon is the ice cream social at the girls' school. We are hoping to get to meet both of the teachers. I am familiar with Lauren's teacher but not Katie's. You would think that with as much time I spend at the school I would know more about her. I am completely clueless about all the fourth grade teachers. Some people would say I am completely clueless about more than fourth grade teachers. Anyway I have heard really good things about both teachers and we have high expectations for a great year.

I don't have any new projects to share since we spent the day at the fair yesterday. (I will hopefully have pictures for you soon) and I tried to finish up laundry last night after the kiddos went to sleep. We are still trying (unsuccessfully) to get them on a schedule for school. So here are a few projects I did for Emma's Paperie this last month.
The first picture is from one our product challenges. We were asked to create a project using a 6 inch tall tea tin.

For this project we were challenged to use lavendar. Not the color I usually use but I am so glad Cindy gave us this challenge. I love to have a reason to step out of my comfort zone once in a while and I am really happy with the results.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

Climb your way to the top

The girls and I had such a great time yesterday. We spent the day with some friends and went rock climbing. I actually kept my feet on the ground but they had a blast! I was able to get these pictures when they were using the automatic ropes but then Mary and I learned how to hold the ropes for the girls.

A few quick projects to show you today. The first one is an older card I made for a Paper Crafts call that got no love. I do love it though. :)

I created this pillow box for Emma's Paperie last month. I absolutely love this paper from My Mind's Eye. So don't be surprised if you see it somewhere else. I ordered several sheets. LOL

Have a great day!!!!!
